The 4th edition of PRBM in 2016 saw a leap in the number of participants to almost 12500 runners. The purpose of the event was to encourage new runners and provide a tougher challenge to current runners. For the first time, the full marathon distance of 42.195 km was introduced in PRBM. The atmosphere at the Balewadi stadium was electrifying with a sea of blue. Participants ranged in ages from toddlers in strollers to senior citizens participating shoulder-to-shoulder in this mega event witnessed for the first time in Pune city.
In 3rd edition Pune Running organized a special charity Walk and Run 'Pune Running Beyond Myself 2015' on OCT 11, 2015. In PRBM 2015, participants ran in four different categories between 3km, 5km, 10km and 21km. The third edition started from BMCC Ground and witnessed more than 7000 participants from all walks of life running enthusiastically. The funds raised through PRBM 2015 were donated to ‘Samvedana’ an NGO that lends a helping hand to the financially weak patients for complex and expensive surgeries and saves their lives.
The 2nd edition of PRBM in 2014 organized in the heart of Pune city saw participation from 5000+ runners. There were runners representing 10 different countries. The event had significant contribution from civil authorities, police, sponsors and community involvement that set the pace literally and figuratively for future editions of PRBM.
Pune Running conducted one of the largest charity events in India. The 'Running Beyond Myself' charity walk and run was held on Sunday, October 6, 2013, in a bid to generate funds for the underprivileged patients of the Neonatal ICU in KEM Hospital in Pune. Almost 4,500 runners turned up for the event and along with a whole host of other volunteers and sponsors partnering in the event, the event was a marked success and attained its desired objective. Noted actor and marathon runner Milind Soman was also part of the event.
